San Antonio firefighters responded to a fire at a Quality Suites Inn motel on Friday morning.
SAFD Chief Charles Hood told KSAT 12 that the fire started just before 4:40 a.m. in the attic of the hotel that is located along northbound Interstate 35 between Weidner and O’Connor roads.
Hood said that several rooms on the third floor had fire damage but there is water damage throughout the building.
News4SA reported that crews evacuated all 19 guests as a safety precaution and bussed them to a different location. CPS Energy turned off the power to the building as a precaution.
At this time it is unclear what started the fire.
